German Tourism from European Origins

This week’s data set was all about German Tourism in to Berlin and Brandenburg. In looking at the data, I found a couple of interesting things, but the most interesting thing was the growth of UK tourism, so I molded that in to European tourism, and if game me a few nice points to annotate. My favorite aspect of this dashboard is the annotations and the way they look connected to the vertical grid lines. The other small detail I added was the dumbbell chart utilizes the colors of the German flag… but I don’t know how effective it turned out because the flag is generally vertical and my dumbbells are horizontal.

Also, I don’t speak german, but the dashboard is 100% in German. Shout out to Google Translate. I’ve used it many times and it’s accuracy is generally pretty good. I basically wrote my annotations in English, then pasted and translated them.

Enjoy!
