Real World Fake Data – Call Center Recap

Our 4th dataset was based on Call center data…. and WOW! So many great submissions for this dataset! When I search for #RWFD on Tableau Public now I can see my dream coming true… lots and lots of real world dashboards for people across all industries that can be used as inspiration.

Let’s jump in to some of my favorite vizzes from this dataset. The first came from Ribhu. Lovely, minimal use of color. Even the tone of green used checked out when I ran it through a visual deficiency simulator. This can be a big consideration when combining red/green colors. Color deficiency is just one accessibility consideration, but I was glad to see it pass with flying colors.

The second viz came from Shivam. The first thing design-wise that jumped out at me was the BAN-Sparkline combination. Giving me the trend verses the prior day with the visual indicator… really nicely done here. Again, great use of color to call out the concerning metrics. Even though these metrics aren’t the highest value, they are the ones to watch. Sometimes it’s not about what’s the biggest value, but what is the more important.

The 3rd highlight for this dataset came from Agata. This dashboard struck me for how clean i was. I love the subtle lines separating the three sections of the dashboard. I really like the interactivity allowing the user to look at specific call centers, or all of them aggregated. The labels on the horizontal bars are also really nice and by removing the axis adds to the overall cleanliness.

The last viz comes from Zainab. Great Bans w/ the trend lines (reminds me a bit of Tableau Server Metrics), I love the shadow box design for grouping the elements, and while this data didn’t have great variation on the CSAT scores, I really like the way this was plotted by call center.
