I’m super excited to bring back Real World Fake Data for the 2nd Season. Real World Fake Data originally started with fake datasets for a quick recap. The aim of the project was to flood Tableau Public with beautiful, useable, business dashboards… and we as a community CRUSHED IT! If you search for #RWFD on Tableau Public you fin over 500 dashboards from the project and there are countless others who didn’t use that hashtag… so first, THANK YOU for showing up and showing out!
Today we mark the beginning of Season 2, where we are going to focus on makeovers of existing dashboards; the Tableau Accelerators. I’ve seen a handful of makeovers pop up on Twitter and it switched on a lightbulb for me.
I have picked 12 Dashboard (some have multiple options in the theme, so you can choose what to do) and there will be a final bonus session at the end with a twist.
Some of these dashboards have multiple tabs and views so we will take 2 weeks between targets to really spend some time making them beautiful and functional.
Once you have your makeover complete, please share it on Twitter and/or LinkedIn and tag me. When you publish to Tableau Public please use the hashtags #RWFD and #Accelerator along with the title. This makes it easy to find them for the general public.
The first dashboards we will be focusing on are Call Center reporting. There are two versions of this dashboard in the Tableau Exchange; an Expert and a Basic version. Pick the one you want to work on and have some fun!
The “Expert” and “Basic” versions both contain 7 dashboard views, but the basic has fewer visuals. Considering we are reimagining these from the ground up, using the metrics listed as guidance, either is a fine starting point.
